West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta

Carving Time  As growers carve out giant pumpkins in preparation of the West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta held at the Lake at the Commons in Tualatin, a large crowd gathers as the curiously await the beginning of the first race.  The event attracted approximately 3,000 spectators thanks to a fine fall day.  Photo © John Lariviere for the Tigard-Tualatin-Sherwood Times

OSAA Cross Country Championships

OSAA 5A Girls Cross Country Championship  Riley Swanson (301) of Crater leads a group of runners nearing the two mile point of the girls 5A championship race.  Following Swanson are Kayleigh Tyerman (302) of Crater,  Michelly Foley (hidden) of Crook County, Amelia Yeager (309) of Cresent Valley, Laurie Stoutenburgh (300) of Crater and Silver Seibert (299) of Crater.  The Crater girls went on to claim the 5A title and Foley of Crook County was the individual champion finishing first with a time of 18:58.  Photo © John Lariviere
