OSAA Fall Sports Playoffs
The 2006 Fall sports season came to a close the second week of
December as the grand finale of the OSAA
High School Sport Championship Series took place at Autzen Stadium
on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, Oregon. There,
the OSAA 4A, 5A and 6A championship games were the final acts of
literally hundreds of playoff games across four sports and six
state-wide divisions. Highlights of the championships included
Jesuit concluding their dominant run through the newly established
6A division to claim its second consecutive football title.
Jesuit's soccer team also reached the 6A soccer finals, but
McMinnville surprise everyone by topping the Crusaders in overtime
to claim its first state soccer championship. The 4A and 5A
football championship games were the first-ever dual overtime games
in the championship series as Siuslaw beat Sisters (4A) and
Corvallis stunned West Albany (5A) in nail biting overtime periods.
